Submission Guidelines

Any form of writing is accepted, including poetry, journalism, literary analysis, novel writing, dramatic script, humor/satire, personal memoir, critical essay, etc.

Make sure your work adheres to our theme of social justice, activism, and/or introspection.

You may send us up to three submissions per cycle.

The maximum word limit for prose is 3000.

Your work must be primarily in English.

Pieces that include offensive or derogatory language will not be accepted.

Previously published work is acceptable as long as you receive permission from the previous publisher and clearly identify them in the submission form.

Note that only the first 50 submissions each cycle receive feedback.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. If your work is discovered to be unoriginal, you will no longer be invited to contribute to Words With Weight. For more information about what is considered plagiarism, check out this webpage.
